The 2019 tax returns prepared by tax advisors must be submitted by Aug. 31, 2021. The deadline was granted by the Grand Coalition, and now it is getting closer. Are you already fully prepared?

For all taxpayers who file themselves without hiring a tax advisor, the filing deadline for the 2020 tax return has changed. They must now be filed by Oct. 31, 2021, rather than the End of July. For tax consultants the deadline for the 2020 tax return has been extended to 05/31/2022.

The tax authorities publish annually updated taxonomies for the preparation of e-balances. Since the software update in July 2021, taxonomy version 6.4 is available in eBilanz-Online.

Tax advisors know it, the Corona crisis has led to a huge increase in bridging assistance for their clients. Often, the preparation of clients’ tax returns has thus suffered, time was simply too short. The Grand Coalition has therefore decided that tax returns prepared by tax advisors for fiscal year 2019 may be submitted later. The deadline was set at Aug. 31, 2021.

This has led many tax advisors and their clients to breathe a sigh of relief, as they were able to concentrate fully on preparing the override assistance. Now the deadline for submitting tax returns (including the e-balance) is drawing ever closer.
