Update March 2022
The following functions and features are available with Update in March 2022:

Update of the ELSTER Rich Client (ERiC) to version 35.2
The ELSTER Rich Client (also abbreviated ERiC) checks tax data for plausibility and transmits it encrypted via a secure connection to the servers of the tax authorities. However, the ERiC does not appear to you as the user.

In one specific case, however, you may already have come into contact with the ERiC: The error messages that appear when creating the e-balance sheet come directly from the ELSTER Rich Client (ERiC). These often contain items from the taxonomy that are not shown in the usual speaking item names, but with their technical names. However, these can be found in the eBilanz-Online forum as well as via the Excel visualization of the taxonomy at www.esteuer.de.

  • For new customers, a confirmation page with all contact information appears after successful registration
  • In the logged-in area, you will immediately receive the available contact options via the navigation point “Info & Contact” – regardless of whether you are currently in a transaction or on the overview page directly after logging in.

The following functions and features are available with Update in July 2021:

  • Taxonomy 6.4
  • Taxonomies of version 6.4 can be used both for submission to the tax authorities and for the preparation of the disclosure file.
    For transfers to credit institutions, the availability check under “Extra” in the administration menu informs you whether the desired bank can already receive version 6.4.
  • Neue Passwortrichtlinie

 

  • Due to the new password policy, you must update your password once. The minimum length of the password is 6 characters. The password may have a maximum length of 32 characters. Spaces must not be included. In addition, at least 3 out of 4 of the following rule must be fulfilled:
    • At least 1 capital letter (A-Z)
    • at least 1 lower case letter (a-z)
    • At least 1 number (0-9)
    • At least 1 special character
  • Mapping

 

  • The account assignment (mapping) of standard account frames 03 and 04 to core taxonomy 6.4 has been defined.

The following functions and features are available with Update in August 2020:

  • Taxonomie 6.3

  • Direct transmission of publications to the Bundesanzeiger

 

  • From now on it is possible to transfer publications directly to the Federal Gazette via web interface. The transfer to the Bundesanzeiger is free of charge. Please refer to the price list of the Bundesanzeiger for publication prices.
  • Mapping

 

  • The account assignment (mapping) of standard account frames 03 and 04 to taxonomy 6.3.

The following functions and features are available with Update in February 2019:

  • Digital Financial Report (DiFin) – EÜR taxonomy 1.0
  • As part of the Digital Financial Report (DiFin) the EÜR taxonomy is available to users. With the EÜR taxonomy 1.0 it is possible to submit reports based on cash method of accounting reports to participating financial service providers.
  • Mapping

 

  • The account assignment (mapping) of standard account frames 03 and 04 to EÜR taxonomy 1.0 has been defined.
  • Sender selection on the transmission protocol

 

  • Users now have the option when transferring a record to select whether them self or the administrator should be listed on the transfer protocol as the sender.

The following functions and features are available with Update in November 2018:

  • Mapping
  • The account assignment (mapping) of standard account frames 03 and 04 to core taxonomy 6.1 has been defined.

  • Users of the webservices (transmission to eBilanz-Online from the accounting program) have been provided with the creation and transmission of the Digital Financial Report (DiFin).

    When the creation and transmission from the accounting program is possible, depends on the individual update cycles.
  • Certificate store

 

  • When transferring the data set, there is the option of permanently saving the Elster-Certificate so that it does not have to be uploaded again on further transmissions.

    When the creation and transmission from the accounting program is possible, depends on the individual update cycles.

Update April 2018

The following functions and features are available with Update in April 2018:

  • Mapping
  • The account assignment (mapping) of standard account frames 03 and 04 to core taxonomy 6.0 has been defined.
  • Digital Financial Report (DiFin)

 

  • The creation of a period has been extended. Annual financial statements based on German GAAP may also be prepared for the Digital Financial Report, either alone or in combination with e-balance sheet and/or disclosure.
  • It is possible to upload up to five PDF files for DiFin. (At least the annual accounts must also be sent in PDF format.)
  • My eBilanz-Online

 

  • Credit balance charged for e-balances can also be used for the Digital Financial Report. The price model for this is the same.
  • The transmission menu has been split into two tabs so that you can easily get an overview of the transfers to the financial administration as well as to credit institutions.
  • New menu option “Extra” – Simply check the bank code and see if the desired recipient participates in the “Digital Financial Report” and which taxonomy versions are accepted.

Update February 2018

The following functions and features are available with Update in February 2018:

  • Determination of taxable income for special cases
  • In the “Determination of taxable income for special cases”, the manually entered data can now also be deleted in the balance sheet and profit and loss account of the taxable purpose businesses with the corresponding selection under “Options”.
  • In addition, an import function of the “values on taxonomy IDs” was added to the overview of the businesses. Here, balances or P & Ls can be imported simultaneously for several companies. For this purpose, an additional column is needed in the Excel file, in which the respective company name is. This allows companies to be created at the same time.

Update November 2017

The following functions and features are available with Update in November 2017:

  • Previous year’s statement in the disclosure
  • In the disclosure, it is now possible to transfer the values for the previous year from previous periods of the same client.
    It should be noted that due to the annual taxonomy changes sometimes individual positions may no longer exist, or have other properties.
  • Account details

 

  • The account statements (detailed informations) have been revised. It is now possible to delete a complete list and to create several new entries at once. In addition, account statements may be created and transmitted for all filled fields, not only for required fields.
  • Statement of changes in equity

 

  • The statement of changes in equity was also revised and adjusted to the handling of capital account development, the Statement of changes in fixed assets, etc.
  • Multiple selection General information (GCD)

 

  • In the GCD there are fields with multiple selection. To remove a selection, click on it while holding down the Ctrl key. Additionally, we have added the option to cancel the selection by double-clicking.
  • Attention: change of the value indication in the disclosure

 

  • In the case of a pure disclosure process, the settings exact cent, MEuro or TEuro can still be selected. But due to file requirements of the Federal Gazette, no more decimal places are possible for the settings in MEuro and TEuro.

Update July 2017

The following functions and features are available with Update in July 2017:

  • New Taxonomy version 6.0
  • Taxonomies of Version 6.0 can now be transferred to the tax authorities.
  • As of this taxonomy version, the notes has been revised: Statement of changes in fixed assets, classification of receivables and liabilitys as well as the register of fixed assets are issued as separate modules below the notes. Editing has been simplified.
  • In addition to error reports, Elster has also used hints for the first time. These do not prevent transmission. However, it is advisable to keep them in mind as they are expected to be changed after a lead time to error messages.
  • Pre-Validation

 

  • A pre-validation was included in the transmission module of the e-balance. This is active when credit is available. This opens a separate window with messages.
    The window can remain open during correction of errors. A PDF printout is also possible.

01.02.2017
Update February 2017

The following functions and features are available with Update in February 2017:

  • Implementation of a client archive
  • Clients, for whom successful e-balance transfers have been made, can not be deleted. They can now be archived instead. This means that the periods and clients are no longer displayed. However, they are saved with all data in the archive of the client administration and can be activated again there.
  • Extension of the functions for the mapping for standard accounting frames

 

  • If standard mappings have been changed individually, they can be selected again in manual mapping. Under Options, the function “Selection of Mappings” was also implemented. Thus, the standard can be stored again and all changes can be undone. Optionally, the assignment can be taken from another process. This selection overwrites the previous assignment.
  • Totals balance lists with extended SKR account numbers are now also assigned in eBilanz-Online via standard mapping. After uploading account balances with extended (for example, 6-digit) account numbers, in a period with SKR standard mapping, the system assigns these according to the mapping. The expansion of all SKR account numbers by the same number of digits is a prerequisite.
  • The SKR account assignments are also available in the area of disclosure. If a period with the combination E-Balance sheet and disclosure has been created, the assignments for the reporting year are transferred from the e-balance sheet. The SKR allocations can be used here for the previous year. If a pure disclosure period has been created, the account assignment is already available in the reporting year.

Update November 2016

The following functions and features are available with Update in November 2016:

  • Taxonomy version 6.0 for disclosure
  • For the financial year 2016, reports shall be disclosed in accordance with the provisions of the “Bilanzrichtlinie-Umsetzungsgesetz (BilRUG)”. Therefore, the commercial taxonomies of version 6.0 were made available for disclosure.
  • In this taxonomy version, the changes to the accounting have already been included.
  • Taxonomies of version 6.0 can only be transferred to the financial administration in the summer of 2017 for real cases and are therefore not yet available for the e-balance sheet.
    It is to be noted that a data transfer from the e-balance with the current taxonomy versions in the disclosure with a taxonomy version 6.0 is not possible.
  • Mapping via selecting

 

  • For manual account mapping, the possibility of assigning accounts by marking was added in addition to the drag and drop procedure. This allows multiple accounts to be selected at the same time, which can be assigned to a position. This function can be selected in the respective mask under “Options”.
  • Group of changing balances

 

  • In addition to the marking of change accounts in the mapping areas of the individual report components, the possibility of creating change groups was added.
  • Mapping for standard accounting frames

 

  • As of taxonomy version 5.3, the mapping for standard account frames (SKR) 03 and 04 are already available within the application. It is therefore no longer necessary to import this as a file.
  • These assignments should be considered as a proposal and must be examined individually for correctness and completeness. They can also be changed individually.

Update July 2016

The following functions and features are available with Update in July 2016:

  • New Taxonomy version 5.4
  • Taxonomies of Version 5.4 can now be transferred to the tax authorities and are also available for the creation of a disclosure file.
  • For companies with taxable purpose business (tax exempt entities) is a further transmission variant available in this taxonomy version: Simple auxiliary calculation of tax balance sheet/s and / or income statement/s of taxable purpose businesses without balance sheet and income statement of umbrella body.
  • Special and supplementary balance sheets are to be announced already in the process plant. It should be noted that they can be transmitted only on a fiscal basis for the legal form of “co-entrepreneurs” to the tax authorities.
  • Set status manually

 

  • The status of the processing is now manually set by the user. It does not affect the ability of Transmission of a process.
  • Delete values in “Changes in equity accounts”

 

  • In “Changes in equity accounts” values can now be deleted as well: Within an account, the entered values for that account will be deleted. In the Overview of Closing balances of Capital Accounts all values of an account group (equity or debt accounts) of a partner can be deleted.
  • Extension of PDF-print

 

  • Balance sheets and profit / loss statements for commercial businesses will also be outputted via the print manager and print preview as a PDF-file.
  • Taxable purpose business and Taxonomy 5.3

 

  • For the transmission variant “Balance sheet and income statement of an umbrella body as well as simple auxiliary calculation of adjustments of taxable purpose business/es” in taxonomy 5.3 the balance sheet and Income statement can be deselected to transmit only the auxiliary calculation of taxable purpose business/es.

The following functions and features are available since Update in April 2016:

  • Changes in equity accounts as pdf-file
  • The Changes in equity accounts may be printed as pdf-file for individual shareholders or all shareholders simultaneously. Likewise, the overview of all Closing Accounts can be printed as pdf. The Closing Accounts and Changes of all shareholders may be printed collectively in print manager.
  • Informations for positions

 

  • Taxonomy visualizations included “Definition Guidance” to a large number of positions. These are now displayed in eBilanz-Online in the info-icons of individual positions.

Update March 2016

The following functions and features are available since Update in March 2016:

  • Import function Changes in equity accounts
  • With update in March for the changes in equity-accounts an import function is implemented.
  • Display of taxonomy-entries in Statutory disclosure

 

  • For individual adjustment of the level of detail of the balance sheet and income statement in the disclosure, a new module was implemented. This allows a more independent of the taxonomy selection of positions. The former option “Edit visible details” is replaced with it.
  • Publication in TEuro

 

  • For processes that are created solely for the disclosure, an additional column heading “TEuro” or “MEuro” can be selected. Also can be defined in advance, whether the display is to be carried out with zero, one or two decimal places.
  • Selection of Confirmation or Denial text

 

  • The heading of confirmation or denial text in the disclosure is now individually selectable.

Update December 2015

The following functions and features are available since Update in December 2015:

  • Section of Statutory disclosure has been revised
  • With Update on 07.12.2015 the functions for creating a file for disclosure are extended as follows:
    Account values can also be imported and assigned to the taxonomy for the previous year in the balance sheet and profit and loss account.
    Imported Account values can be deleted separately for the reporting year and the previous year.
    A mapping created in the disclosure report, applies to both the reporting period as well as for the previous year. The acquisition of values from the E-Balance is not disturbed.
    The import of values for taxonomy IDs must be carried out separately for the reporting year and the previous year, as well as the manual input of values.
    Deleting manually entered values is made separately for the reporting year and the previous year.
  • Delete manually entered values in individual masks

 

  • Manually entered values can be deleted from the E-Balance or from the disclosure in the individual masks.
  • PDF-Download of period information

 

  • To view detailed information about an applied period, the link “Show detailed information” can be used. These informations are often required for inquiries to the service and can be generated now as PDF.

Update October 2015

The following functions and features are available since Update in October 2015:

  • Takeover of General Data (GCD) from another period
  • Since October it’s possible to take over the data for the GCD-Module from another period. For this purpose, in Edit mode, the “GCD from other operation” option must be selected. After adopting the data should be checked for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Presentation change in the overview of “Changes in equity accounts”

 

  • If a Changes in equity accounts created with taxonomy 5.3, the presentation of the overview of the breakdown by shareholders can be changed to the breakdown by capital accounts.
  • Preselection of “Detailed information”

 

  • Detailed information for account balances are desired by the tax authorities for some required fields marked with [MK]. This report part is automatically pre-assigned optionally in the process plant for the E-Balance.
  • Import of an XBRL file in the disclosure area

 

  • The import of an XBRL file is only possible for the Statutory disclosure-section when a process was created purely to create a file for the Federal Gazette. In a process with e-balance sheet and disclosure data for the present year are copied to balance sheet and income statement from the e-balance in the disclosure. An additional import an XBRL file would double this data. Therefore, this import module has been disabled for this constellation.
  • Form View – Hide empty positions

 

  • In the masks which include a table, or form view, the presentation of form can be changed if desired. In addition to the selection “only required fields” it is now possible to hide empty positions. Thus, only fields are displayed in which data were entered.

Update June 2015

The following functions and features are available since Update in June 2015:

  • Administration of shareholders and partners in GCD
  • The administration of shareholders and partners has been removed from the tab “My eBilanz-Online” and is now integrated into the GCD module. In case that “Changes in equity accounts” have to be transferred to the tax authorities, the affected shareholders and partners are taken automatically from the GCD-module.
  • Redesign of the module „Changes in equity accounts“ for taxonomy version 5.3

 

  • For financial years beginning after 31.12.2014 all changes in equity have to be transmitted to the tax authorities electronically as part of the E-Balance. As a consequence the module has been redesigned fundamentally. As a result, data entry has been simplified with an optimised overview of affected accounts and movements during the period. In addition, equity accounts not relevant may be hidden to reduce complexity.
  • Transmission of the E-Balance for taxable purpose business (tax exempt entities)

 

  • Legal entities under public law with commercial businesses and corporations that are tax-exempted but have taxable purpose business, may now transfer the E-Balance tot he tax autorities using taxonomy version 5.3. Also, legal entities partly tax-exempted are now in the position to transfer the E-Balance for the tax-exempted part of the business only.
  • Attention: new pricing model

 

  • Starting from June 22, 2015, a changed pricing model for eBilanz-Online became effective. The average price per transmission is now determined separately for each range and for the full number of purchased transmissions. For more information please refer to the Terms of Use.

  • If in another process an apropiate mapping already exists – for example, Previous year or due to the same chart of accounts – it can be assumed in the current process. For this purpose, no new file import is necessary.

Update October 2014

The following functions and features are available with Update in October 2014:

  • Option to import jpeg- und gif-images into text-fields
  • With version 2.5 it is possible to import jpeg- und gif-images that may be referenced in text-fields for the purpose of generating a XBRL-file for Bundesanzeiger.
  • Preview of the E-Balance immediately before its transmission to the tax authorities

 

  • With version 2.5 an option has been introduced to view the data to be transmitted to the tax authorities by means of a pdf-file. It includes all components of the taxonomy selected for the transmission.
  • Preview of XBRL-data immediately before the generation of the XBRL-file

 

  • Similar to the E-Balance it is now possible to print and preview the XBRL-data into a pdf-file.
  • Accounts with possible debit and credit balances

 

  • With version 2.5 accounts that may have debit as well as credit balances may be marked and mapped to asset-position and liability-positions of the balance sheet at the same time. If the balance of the account is transferred to the asset-positon or the liability-position depends on the actual balance as of the balance sheet date.
  • Opt-In-process for the eBilanz-Online-newsletter

 

  • A new process for registering for the eBilanz-Online-newsletter has been introduced. It is now possible to register for the newsletter at the time of creating a new user or at any later point in time within the user administration.
  • Option to purchase transmissions via SEPA direct debit scheme

 

  • With version 2.5 the option to purchase transmissions via SEPA direct debit scheme has been added to the supported payment methods. If selected neither the input of PINs or TANs is required. However, the payment method is supported for German bank accounts only.
  • Option to (locally) install eBilanz-Online on pc’s or servers of the company

 

  • With version 2.5 eBilanz-Online may be used via a local installation on company owned pc’s or servers. In case of interest, please send an email to service@bundesanzeiger.de and we will send you an unbinding offer.
  • Data input into eBilanz-Online via web-service for provider of ERP-solutions and software developers

 

  • Provider of ERP-systems and software developers may deliver (mass-)data out of their solutions directly into eBilanz-Online via a free-of-charge web-service. Excel-files are no longer required. In case of interest in using the web-service, please send an email to service@bundesanzeiger.de and we will contact you with further information.
