Is the transmission protocol created by the tax authorities saved in eBilanz-Online?

Yes, after successful transmission to the tax authorities, the XBRL instance file and the transmission log, including the transmission time and the transmitting user, are saved in eBilanz-Online for documentation purposes. The transmission log then also serves as proof of the transmission to the tax authorities and can be printed out.

Can the ‘security stick for Elster’ also be used in eBilanz-Online?

Transmission from eBilanz-Online to the tax authorities is only possible using an Elster basic certificate.
For technical reasons, authentication via the ElsterSpezial security stick or the ElsterPlus signature card will not work until further notice.
The Elster basic certificate should be applied for online via Elster and is free of charge. The user is then provided with an encrypted certification file in pfx format, which they save on their computer. The user also receives a PIN by post.

Can I also save the transferred data set locally?

Although you can view the XBRL data saved in eBilanz-Online after successful transmission, you can only save it locally on your PC in pdf or Excel format. If you wish, you can then delete the data saved in eBilanz-Online. Once deleted, the data is irrevocably removed and cannot be restored.

Can account statements also be transferred with eBilanz-Online?

In principle, yes. For this purpose, the report section “Detailed Information” must be selected. For fiscal years beginning after December 31, 2024, all assigned accounts are automatically included as account details. For fiscal years ending before December 31, 2024, only those accounts that are mapped to a taxonomy position with the attribute “[MK]” are automatically included. The entry can also be made manually. Users can also individually decide whether these detail information are transmitted.

Are “Detailed informations” required to be submitted starting from fiscal year 2025?

Yes, starting from fiscal year 2025, the submission of “Detailed information” is mandatory. The reason for this is the Annual Tax Act 2024, which has expanded the requirements for the electronic balance sheet (E-Bilanz). For all fiscal years beginning after December 31, 2024, companies must electronically submit “Detailed information” (account statements) for all accounts.

What happens if no accounts are available?

In cases where no accounts exist – for example, when the E-Bilanz is entered manually – the report section for “Detailed information” can initially be deselected. This allows the E-Bilanz to be submitted without account statements.

What should I do if I notice errors in my entries after successfully transferring them to the tax authorities?

You can change the entries and submit the e-balance sheet again. It is important that you select the status ‘corrected’ or ‘amended’ in the GCD module so that it is recognised by the tax authorities as a corrected e-balance sheet. In order not to discard the previously sent data, it is possible to create a new version of the process.
